[Kaoru was admittedly a little glad that he was learning a bit more about commoner living. After all, he didn't earn much and he had no idea when he could get to a point where he could live comfortably with the money he did have.
So he had decided to attempt to cook after at least learning one recipe. What Kaoru didn't realise was you don't leave things that can catch on fire on a stove. So when the other was to return would find Kaoru panicking and simply attempting to put it out with a towel he had grabbed.]
[Bridget returned and, oh dear was that smoke when he entered? He followed it curiously and weary cause where there was smoke there was... Fire. Dumbfounded. Bridget flapped his hands.]
[Currently trying to put out said fire with a towel. So far he might be doing it wrong. But he could hear the voice of his now roommate and it was enough to turn his head slightly.]
I'm sorry...I have learned not to leave teatowels on the stove.
[He knows it's a joke, but still... Index finger raised.]
You're welcome. Yeah, anything you cook on the stove, it's better to keep everything else off. Since it's operated by gas, that makes it more dangerous.
[He was pretty sure that nothing was around that could be set on fire except for their own clothing. But he was sure you'd have to be really stupid for that
But he was going to another counter to lean on it.]
Brrrrrrrrridget. We need to talk about roommate stuff.
[He has an inkling and he figured to bring it up now instead of the possibility of it being a thing and the other being overly surprised about the thing.]
And no. I haven't set anything on fire again. [Just in case he assumed.]
I've had a couple friend arrive recently. One who is a commoner back home and well can take care of themselves and then... [And then there's the Shadow King, but he refrains from wording it like that.] I have a cool type friend who just arrived today and well... I get the feeling he'll want to stay with us. At least for now
Which is why I am talking about it now. Mostly about rooming arrangements.
Something like that. ...Hey Kaoru. Do you believe in superstition? [Well, he has a twin too, but he isn't sure if it's identical. He pauses there to let that sink in thought, looking away for a moment. As he continues, he lowers his head, shadows from his bangs overcasting his eyes.]
The village where I grew up in, if identical twins were born, it's consider a bad omen. If they were ever born... either one of them is killed or exiled. [More quiet, it was a sad fate, but Bridget looks up, smiling.]
But my mother didn't want to loose either, so she raised the youngest one as her daughter. It was kept secret until I had to leave.
I like to pretend I do if there is a reason like pranking someone, but not necessarily unless there is proof of it potentially being true.
[But he is going to sit and listen to the subject and why it was something that was brought up. But it was soon obvious that jeeze that was pretty terrible. he was glad he was never born in that world or he would have probably been screwed.]
That is pretty awful and because of a superstition. It explains why you have a preference for female clothing.
action; I should feel bad.

Re: action; me too.... ;;
Ahhh-!! Kaoru!!
[Translation: Why is there fire!!]
action;
I'm sorry...I have learned not to leave teatowels on the stove.
Re: action;
[Gah! Water first.]
Don't use that. That will catch fire too!
[He is so heading to the sink with a cup.]
action;
[He moved the towel away for the moment as he moved back. it could have been worse, at least in his mind.]
Water is next right. I got it. [He said as it was actually something he knew.]
Re: action;
[It doesn't phase him. He pours the water on the fire, thank goodness it was small. Big sigh of relief.]
That was close!
action;
I will remember for next time to not start fires unless it's very controlled and for a prank.
[He was kidding and it was obvious in his voice, to say the least.]
But thank you, I owe you one.
Re: action;

You're welcome. Yeah, anything you cook on the stove, it's better to keep everything else off. Since it's operated by gas, that makes it more dangerous.
[Nod, nod.]
So, what were you cooking?
action;
[He paused for a moment.]
As for what I was cooking. Spaghetti.
Re: action;
[One point for him!]
And then catching anything else on fire spreads, but I'll show you something really cool you can do on a stove later.
Spaghetti. Okay, so how's the pasta looking?
action;
I'm going to go with overcooked now.
Re: action;
[Was that even a word?!]
It's too soggy, so we'll have to make another batch.
Re: action;
[Yes he was going to give it another try.]
Re: action;
[And get water. Chipper Bridget mode!]
action;
Okay, so I need water to boil right?
Re: action;
action;
[he made sure he had a new pan for obvious reasons before putting water in and putting it on the cooker. Soon he was just going to watch quietly.]
Re: action;
[He waits for the water to boil.]
Okay, go ahead and add the pasta.
action;
See this part I got and did before. It was the whole..do not put stuff that burns on the cooker.
Re: action;
It's okay, you're doing great. It's the waiting game now... and not catching anything on fire this time.
[Maybe he better double check while he's at it, and clear all fire hazards.]
action;
But he was going to another counter to lean on it.]
Check. Nothing can burn.
Re: action;
[He claps his hands together happily.]
action;
[Checking was all fine and dandy, but he figured he'd need a basic amount of time before it would be finished cooking.]
Re: action;
You gotta stir it too so it doesn't stick in the pot. It's kinda like instant noodles.
action;
But oh, I know a tiny bit about instant noodles.
video;
[He has an inkling and he figured to bring it up now instead of the possibility of it being a thing and the other being overly surprised about the thing.]

Re: video;
[He listens, putting it together.]
From your world? That's good! You're so lucky.
Ah... okay so, where is he going to sleep?
[Cause how many rooms do they have now?]
video;
[He paused, he had an idea.]
he can have my room. I managed to decorate it enough that it would be okay. It means we will have to either share or I sleep on the sofa.
Re: video;
[Ack! He puts his face closer to the screen, like he's about to yell at him.]
You can sleep here too! I used to share a room with my brother so it's okay! Really!
[Oops, maybe he said too much.]
video;
[Best way of saying he was a twin right?]
Uh... I shared a room with my brother too, but rooming with not a sibling is different.
Re: video;
[Another gasp! But wait-- so much drama twin issues. A beat. He looks as if he's worried about Kaoru.]
Except he got to dress like a guy.
[Small confession.]
It is but, it's better than sleeping on the couch I think. We can get bunk beds if you don't like sharing.
video;
Got to dress like a guy? Like it was a choice or something, or one is forced not to dress like a guy?
[What the hell is a bunk bed?]
Bunk beds?
Re: video;

Re: video;
[So protesting! He likes them, they're cute!]
But I like some boys clothes too, just... I don't know how to...
[Index fingers meet. He doesn't do good at picking boy clothes okay!]
video;
[And he is fine to admit that.]
I can always help if you need it.
